Smokin' Hogs play rocky, punchy blues, with a definite lean to the styles of the late sixties and early seventies blues boom.
The set mainly consists of songs written by Steve and Paul with a selection of blues covers thrown in for good measure.
Smokin' Hogs have been around for a while, and have built up a solid reputation with many years of experience in the music industry, playing in various bands around the UK and Europe.
The band formed some 4 years ago, with the line up consisting of Steve Soer and Peter Bond, plus drums and keyboards. It was eventually decided to "ditch" keyboards and concentrate as a three piece.
Keef "Slowbone" Shepherd joined the line up in 2008 and this added a definite "punch" to the band's sound. The latest personnel change was in 2009 when Peter departed the band due to ill health and was replaced by Mark "The Reverend" Kennedy on Lead Guitar.
Also in 2009 the introduction of Paul "Dr Vanity" Sutton as Frontman, Harp and Guitar player provided the final polish to the Smokin' Hogs sound.
The band now moves on to bigger and better things in 2009 and beyond!
Smokin' Hogs have one CD entitled "Leavin' Here" already under their belts and are working on a new album which will be recorded in September 2009.
The excellent sound and tightness of this band is second to none, with great playing ability all round and a well equipped outfit which I am sure you will enjoy.
So if you like "Kick Ass" blues/rock and a few beers, try to catch Smokin' Hogs at one of their gigs and you won't be disappointed!!
